According to the legislation in force, Law no. 108/2016 regarding natural gas, as well as the regulation on the supply of natural gas, but also the regulation on the procedure for changing the supplier, the final consumer of natural gas has the following rights:
Continuous and reliable supply:
• The right to the continuous and reliable supply of natural gas, at the established quality parameters, up to the safety valve (domestic consumer) or the demarcation point (non-domestic consumer).
Choosing a supplier:
• The right to choose one's supplier and to enter into a natural gas supply contract with any supplier.
Modification of the contract:
• The right to request the supplier to conclude, modify, extend, suspend or terminate the natural gas supply contract.
Change provider:
• The right to change the supplier under the conditions established by the law and the Regulation on the procedure for changing the supplier.
Cessation of supply:
• The right to request the suspension of natural gas supply for a determined period, but not less than one month.
Attendance at meter reading:
• The right to be present at the reading of the indications of the measuring equipment, at the verification and extrajudicial examination of the measuring equipment, at the control of the natural gas measuring equipment and the applied seals.
Information:
• The right to ask the supplier for information on the quality parameters of the natural gas supplied, on the consumption history, on the payments and penalties calculated and paid.
Verification of compliance with the contract:
• The right to verify and ascertain compliance by the supplier with the provisions of the natural gas supply contract.
Reparation of damages:
• The right to request compensation for damages caused by the supplier or the system operator (in case of delivery of natural gas in violation of the quality parameters, established quality indicators, or in case of violation of the contract or regulatory acts approved by ANRE).
Access to the telephone service:
• The right to have access to the telephone service of the system operator, the numbers of which must be indicated in the invoice.
Pricing and Tariff Information:
• The right to receive, upon request, information on the prices and tariffs in force.
Response to petitions and complaints:
• The right to receive a response to petitions and complaints addressed in the manner and within the terms established by the normative acts in force.
Respect for these rights is essential to ensure a competitive and transparent natural gas market that protects the interests of end consumers.
